Poem-Making as Play

I learned how to write poems by reading the book of John Fox. I devoured Finding What You Didn’t Lose, Expressing Your Truth and Creativity Through Poem-Making. I highlighted, performed the exercises and read the poems featured in the book. I had so much fun! Poetry set me free in so many ways. I loved the book so much I wrote John Fox and told him how I enjoyed learning poetry through his book. Those were the days of snail mail and to my surprise, Fox snail mailed back, with  a short note of encouragement.
